Diepenring Kompas (English)

Welcome to the Diepenring, for centuries an inspiring meeting place for passionate people. Get to know the place, the people and yourself better with the Diepenring Kompas (Compass).

Diepenring Kompas is a book about motivation and magic in the form of a map with website and a walk along the canals of Groningen. Aletta Jacobs, Wubbo Ockels, Kim Feenstra, Pim Fortuyn and Beyoncé. And Janine Abbring, Arjen Robben, Bono, Haile Gebrselassie and Herman Brood. They and many other passionate citizens of the world have left their traces on the Diepenring. Search and be inspired.

Since 2010, Paul Passchier has been organizing the Drijfverenwandeling (Motivation Walk) for people and organizations. In 2020, the restrictive corona measures brought the inspiration to develop the Kompas as a book annex do-it-yourself tool. In 2021, in cooperation with the University of Groningen, an English addendum to the book was published.

The addendum can be viewed with the English QR Card which provides access to a digital Guide and a digital Map (destinations, stories and questions) in English. The paper map included in the book is in Dutch.
